The Wayne County Sheriff Saturday identified the body of a man found at a recycling plant in Macedon Wednesday morning as 51-year-old Donald Danforth.

A preliminary investigation indicates no signs of foul play.

Workers found Danforth’s body, fully clothed but with no ID on him, at the Alpco Recycling Plant on Macedon Road as they were shifting through cardboard recycling material that was dumped at the plant by a truck from the city of Rochester.

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts said Saturday investigators from the Monroe and Wayne County Sheriff’s offices identified the location of a dumpster on the east side of Monroe County where the man was transferred to the recycling truck owned by Clean Way of Rochester, prior to being off-loaded at the Alpco Plant. The recycling truck was the type that compresses material that is picked up.

The exact cause of death has not been determined pending toxicology reports. No further details about Danforth were immediately available.

Virts said the lead agency in the investigation shifted to Monroe County due to the identification of the exact location of the incident.
Macedon police assisted in the case. An investigation continues.
