Kitchens and bathrooms are the most practical and currently popular remodeling projects according to a recent Boston Globe article. Functionality, the article reports, has become more of a focus over form. In one interview Cambridge contractor Charlie Allen tells the Boston Globe that if some one has a "kitchen that is dated and doesn't work for the family, the focus is 'doesn't work for the family'," he said.
So, if you are remodeling for your own family or are looking to sell, you may want to look at making the kitchen more accessible for example, or updating the bathroom plumbing.
