New York wines attracted lots of attention at the recent London International Wine Trade Fair, with world-class wine writers like Oz Clarke and Steven Spurrier visiting our "Uncork New York" booth (see the photos on our Facebook page), and Remy Charest posting a nice piece during the how on Palate Press, an online wine magazine.
In addition, importer Sue Chambers recently added several Finger Lakes wineries to her portfolio of Long Island brands, ensuring actual on-site representation and distribution.
Our presence at the show is made possible by the Market Access Program (MAP), and in this instance organized by Teresa Knapp of our staff and Lakewood Vineyards. We also appreciate the participation by Kareem Massoud (Paumanok Vineyards), Bob Madill (Sheldrake Point Winery), and Scott and Ruth Osborn (Fox Run Vineyards), who presented a broad selection of fine New York wines to trade representatives from throughout Europe and beyond.
Jim Trezise of Penn Yan has been the President of the New York Wine & Grape Foundation since 1985 and President of the International Riesling Foundation since 2011.
