The Pittsford Board of Education will hear public comment on the use of recyclable lunch trays at its meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, July 12 at Barker Road Middle School, 75 Barker Road, Pittsford.

The trays would replace the currently used Styrofoam trays. The new tray would be a little more than three times the cost of the current tray (3 cents).

This would require a $21,000 increase to the school lunch budget.
To cover that cost, an increase in lunch prices would be needed, which would result in a 25-cent increase to purchasers.
