Andrew Wynne of Fairport has been accepted into the Peace Corps and will leave for the Philippines on July 6.
Wynne will serve as a coastal resource extension specialist during his 27-month assignment. Wynne is a 2007 graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School and a 2011 graduate of Scranton University in Scranton, Pa.
His Peace Corps assignment is part of his graduate work in environmental studies at the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C., where he just completed his first year with a 4.0 GPA.
He is the youngest son of Sandy and Bill Wynne of Fairport.
