Sahlen’s Stadium honors Abby Wambach today with renaming of main walkway

Reuniting in Rochester for the first time since the Olympics, Team USA’s women’s soccer team, including Pittsford native Abby Wambach, will face off against Costa Rica Saturday afternoon.

Wambach is being honored today as the main walkway into Sahlen’s Stadium will be renamed “Wambach Way.” The ribbon-cutting and dedication with Rochester Mayor Tom Richards takes place at 10 a.m. Gates open at 9 a.m.

The team takes the field at 11:30 a.m. for practice at Sahlen’s. This is free and open to the public.
