The Monroe County League realigned this offseason, going from three divisions to four. Brighton, Pittsford Mendon, Pittsford Sutherland and HF-L are now in Division II.
The name may have changed, but don’t expect the competition level to change on the East Side.
The Vikings scored a key early season victory, defeating the Barons 2-1 on Thursday in what should be the first of many outstanding games in Monroe County’s toughest division. Mendon has opened the season 3-0, also earning a victory over Webster Schroeder.
Harley-Allendale Columbia will look to get back into the thick of the Finger Lakes West race after finishing under .500 last fall. McQuaid is hoping a strong preseason can get them back into contention for a Class AA title.
