Pittsford scored the final four goals of the game to secure a 9-5 win over Honeoye Falls-Lima in a non-league boys lacrosse game Thursday at Pittsford Mendon.

The Cougars, who never led in the contest, tied the game 1:34 into the fourth quarter after a goal by senior attacker Jason Boike. The momentum was short-lived as Pittsford junior Brad Schumacher scored less than a minute later to give the Panthers a 6-5 lead.

Ben Overslaugh gave Pittsford a 7-5 advantage with 8:35 remaining. The Panthers did an outstanding job controlling the possession the rest of way, and goals by Corey Parke and Albie DiPasquale iced the victory.

HF-L started the rally in the third quarter as Drew Tallon and Keanan O’Brien scored less than three minutes into the second half to cut into a three-goal halftime deficit. Goalie Nick Beniamino, who finished with 14 saves, and the rest of the Cougar defense kept Pittsford off the scoreboard in the quarter.

The Panthers were in control in the first quarter as Albie DiPasquale scored twice to give Pittsford a 2-0 lead after one. Connor Flaherty and Tallon scored to open the second quarter for the Cougars to tie game.

The Panthers regained momentum as Steven Ricci scored with 4:14 remaining in the second. Corey Parke scored less than two minutes later, and Stephen Quinzi’s goal with 48 seconds left put Pittsford up 5-2 going into halftime.

DiPasquale led the Panthers with three goals and had two assists, while Parke finished with two goals and one assist. Tallon led HF-L with two goals.

Both teams return to action on Tuesday, as Pittsford plays at R-H beginning at 5 p.m., while the Cougars  host Irondequoit at 7 p.m.
