Ah yes, the sun is finally starting to set over Lake Ontario again. A sure sign of summer indeed!

The Geneseo men's lacrosse team defeated Plattsburgh yesterday afternoon by a score of 7-5. The win sends them to the SUNYAC championship game against SUNY Cortland, ranked number two in the nation.

I can't look at this longer than five seconds without wanting one! I took this at a "Pet Parade" held in Geneseo over the weekend. Residents were invited to bring their furry loved ones to Highland park for a parade, games and to enjoy the beautiful weather. This little one was getting all of the attention.

Count the stars here!
Another shot from a familiar location if you have been following my blog. Last night was a good night to look up if you enjoy star gazing. Can you count the stars? It might take you a while!

We had snow yesterday, what a bummer! Can we get back to Spring yet? I would really like temps to stay above freezing from here on out!

Last night a benefit comedy show was held at The Comedy Club in Webster to raise money for cancer research and support. The Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester was in attendance collecting proceeds which totaled over 600 dollars! Pictured above, comedian Tizo Maduro performs for the audience before headliner Pamela Werts took the stage.

Is it safe to say Spring has officially arrived? It is still April, so maybe we should hold off on that but I think we are getting close. Have a great weekend!

SUNY Geneseo senior Kelsey Ogden connects with a pitch during yesterday's matchup against Union. The girls split with Union, losing the first game 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th, but dominating the nightcap with an 11-4 victory.

On a clear night you get a pretty good show down in Geneseo. The evening sky down here is the closest thing I have seen to star shows out west in the desert. And yet it still doesn't seem to compare!

The boys of summer are back! I was able to get out and catch my first game of the season recently. If you are an avid baseball fan you have to check out Frontier Field this year. Not only is it home to the Red Wings, but the Yankees farm team will have several home games there this year due to stadium renovations.

Happy Monday to everyone! I hope the weekend was a blast. I was down at Canandaigua Lake yesterday for the 10th annual polar plunge when I got this shot. Check back for photos of the plunge in the coming days!

A beautiful view of SUNY Geneseo's campus overlooking the valley. Enjoy the weekend and get outside!

I was walking downtown yesterday after an assignment and saw this bed of tulips right off of East Ave. It was refreshing to see some spring colors mixed into the city landscape.

I didn't get a chance earlier to post this photo from that stellar moonlit night we had last week, so here we go! You know, if you can muster up the stamina and the courage to get out on a nice clear night for some photography you can often get really cool results. The moon was so strong on this particular night that it cast some pretty significant shadows. I have to admit that I was a little nervous during this shot because I was by myself in the woods. I could have sworn something was watching me! You can bet I didn't stick around long after getting a few shots.

This was taken yesterday afternoon. You may want to look at it for a while because starting tonight and continuing into tomorrow we should see a mix of rain and snow. No worries though, if you can make it through that short time period Thursday and Friday should offer up some better weather. It is April though, so I can't expect it to be sunny every day!

This was from Friday evening. As you can tell it was shot from inside a moving vehicle, but look closely and you should be able to find the sun in the mirror! I hope everyone had a great weekend and here is to a great upcoming week.

With Easter Sunday just around the corner, I thought this photo might be appropriate. A different spin on the classic tulip photos that you usually see during the daytime. In case you were curious, that burst of light in the sky is actually the moon! It was incredibly bright last night, allowing for me to trip the shutter and leave it open long enough without actually having to light anything artificially. Wishing everyone the best this weekend.

So last night I was walking after sunset and saw a UFO! All I had was my little point and shoot but I managed to get a photo of it. Just kidding it's a gazebo. Is it Friday yet? I must be losing my mind!!!

Although many spring sports have been in session for several weeks now, yesterday was my first shot at getting out and capturing some of the action. Pictured above, SUNY Geneseo's Emily Haggerty runs through a tunnel of her teammates' lacrosse sticks before the start of their match against SUNY Fredonia. After a long battle between the two teams, Fredonia edged the Knights 15-14 in the third overtime.

The sun bursts through a flowering tree on the campus of SUNY Geneseo. Aside from the allergies, this has got to be one of my favorite times of year!
