State troopers and citizen volunteers will be out in force this week to make sure any Halloween tricks don’t get out of hand.

While state troopers patrol the Thruway looking out for drunk and reckless drivers, volunteers will be on the lookout for pranksters. The patrols will be out from Saturday, Oct. 30 to Sunday, Oct. 31.

Sixteen organizations, like citizen band radio clubs and amateur radio operators, from 20 counties have asked to participate in the effort.

For more information on the “Pumpkin Patrol, call state police Sgt. Charles Stumpf at 518-436-3134.
