The Lupus Foundation of Genesee Valley, Inc. is hosting its annual Lupus Loop Walk in Seneca Park tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 6. The event starts at 10 a.m., with participant registration beginning at 9 a.m. Signup is in the Wegmans Pavilion in lower Seneca Park."
The purpose of the walk is to raise funds to help find the causes of and a cure for lupus. Participants may also register online and download forms at www.lupusloopwalk.org.
Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that can affect various parts of the body, especially the skin, joints, blood, and kidneys. More than 16,000 Americans develop lupus each year, and an estimated 1.5 million Americans have the disease.
During the event, entertainment will be provided by singer and songwriter Marty Roberts. There will also be a prize raffle and education targeted towards living with lupus. Various stations and signs will be set up along the loop path.
