The New York State Associated Press Association recognized Messenger Post Media this week with eight awards for exemplary writing and media. At a ceremony in Saratoga Springs on Wednesday, Oct. 3, three first place, three second place, and two third place honors were given to the publication in the categories of features, niche website, blogging, beat reporting, brightest headline, business and finance, and graphic illustration.

"I am extremely proud of our entire Messenger Post team that has been honored with these distinguished Associated Press awards," said MPN General Manager Chris Miller. "The breadth of this recognition speaks to the multiple talents of our team to produce quality local content that engages our readers."

Executive Editor Rick Jensen emphasized the collaborative efforts by news staff.

“I'm proud of the Messenger Post News Team,” he said. “While we have individual winners, our success truly is a team effort.”
