Authorities say a 20-year-old Rochester-area man who was struck by a vehicle near a western New York amusement park has died from his injuries.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office tells local media outlets that Casey Parnell of Mumford was along a road outside Darien Lake Theme Park, 25 miles east of Buffalo, when he stepped into the path of a minivan around 9 p.m. Saturday.
He was taken to a Buffalo hospital, where he died early Sunday morning.
A country music concert was held at Darien Lake Saturday night, but deputies say it’s unclear whether Parnell was attending the show.
Deputies say the van was driven by a 39-year-old woman from Homer in Cortland County. Officials say she isn’t expected to be charged, but the investigation is continuing.
