With the theme of “A Valentine’s Gift for you, from you,” Moonshadow’s Spirit is hosting a free awareness workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 11, at the United Church of Christ, 570 Klem Road, Webster. There will be two speakers, each describing their personal story of eating disorder and recovery.
In addition, Fran Carns, Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, will lead a discussion on proper nutrition.
To promote a positive body image, there will be a 45-minute self defense class led by Steve Scott and Marisa Diliberto, who are both black belts in karate and have been certified in New York City by the American Women’s Self Defense Association.
During breaks in the program, participants may enjoy refreshments and treat themselves to a massage, paraffin hand treatment, Reiki treatment or foot detoxification.
End the day with a guided meditation, focused on positive body image, and led by Dr. Fran Carns.
