Geva Theatre Center, 75 Woodbury Blvd., Rochester, will present the 22nd annual Regional Writers Showcase at 7 p.m. April 24 with a performance of “Gold and Thieves” by Rene Solivan.
“Gold and Thieves” depicts Julia, a 50-year-old administrative assistant in Hollywood who never made full use of her intellectual abilities. Her sister and Division I university basketball coach, Robin, asks Julia to “help” her star player with his homework for a fee. Julia’s response to her sister’s fraud may have lasting effects she never could have anticipated.
The script-in-hand performance is directed by Jean Gordon Ryon. The audience will have the opportunity to speak with Solivan and Ryon after the play.
Tickets are free, but reservations are required.
