The town of Pittsford’s annual Memorial Day parade and remembrance ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. May 29, starting at Sutherland High School, 55 Sutherland St., Pittsford.
The procession will march down Jefferson Road to Main Street and culminate at the Pittsford Cemetery for a ceremony. Retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Michael Giardino will serve as grand marshal and will speak at the post-parade remembrance ceremony.
The Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony will include patriotic performances by the Pittsford Fire Department Band, Harold McAulliffe and members of the Pittsford Sutherland High School band and music department programs. Town Supervisor Bill Smith, Village Mayor Bob Corby, Pittsford Fire Department member and U.S. Army veteran Todd Long and Rayson Miller American Legion Post Veterans of Foreign Wars Cmdr. Jefrey Mason will place wreaths to honor and remember Pittsford military veterans. The Pittsford American Legion Honor Guard will provide a 21-gun salute to honor the fallen.
After the ceremony, the Rayson-Miller American Legion Post 899 headquarters, 21 N. Main St., will host a reception. For information: townofpittsford.org/memorialdayparade.
