Concerning the upcoming election:
I stopped watching the (first) presidential debate when I heard Mitt Romney state something to the effect that if a person was unhappy with his/her health insurance, they should just switch it; and if they wanted to add a child they just had to notify the company. If I had been the president, I would have interrupted Mitt right there and asked him what planet he was living on? Mitt to me seems to be a lot out of touch.
If you don’t believe me, go down to your employer tomorrow and try to make such a switch. Or, if you are on COBRA, try switching and see if you can afford to make your COBRA payments.
Also, our health care costs are twice the cost of the rest of the world. Is our health any better? Wake up, America!! The health care providers represent a monopoly and have to be regulated to control costs.
