The Town of Victor has been blessed to be the home of several historic treasures. These treasures are valuable legacies which we bequeath in turn to those who follow. These are gifts from previous generations hoping that we will be good stewards to guarantee their future.

Valentown Museum is one of these historic treasures, which provides more than a window to our past or a means to preserve our important history. It is a place where one can rekindle a sense of awe and adventure. Valentown is an open classroom, a true educational experience — it excites, astounds, informs and inspires. It serves as a source of getting to know our local history; it safeguards our future and is a prime tourist attraction. It is one of those roadside treasures and is a true distinctive destination.

The Valentown Museum is a public domain managed with three goals in mind — preservation, education and, yes, sheer enjoyment. This is also a quality-of-life issue, as it represents art and culture. Valentown is peace and quiet in the midst of one of the most commercially developed areas in the Town of Victor.

A grassroots fund-raising effort has been organized to help retire its $50,000 debt through the S.O.S. (Save Our Site) campaign. We are encouraging our Victor residents as well as our friends and neighbors in surrounding communities to become part of this historic preservation effort. Please help by sending a tax-deductible donation to: VHS, P.O. Box 472, Victor, NY 14564.

A long-time friend of Valentown,
