Honeoye Falls —
Elizabeth Shaffer, a former legislative aide, was named press secretary by state Sen. Jim Alesi, R-Perinton, as part of his effort to enhance communication with residents of the 55th Senate District.
"Elizabeth has been a tremendous addition to my office in recent years, and has proven to be a great asset as I continue to enhance communications with constituents," Alesi said in a press release. "I am confident in her abilities, and as press secretary, Elizabeth will partner with local media, municipalities and organizations to keep residents informed of the important work being done on their behalf."
Shaffer graduated from Honeoye Falls-Lima High School before studying government at St. Lawrence University, in Canton. She also spent a summer at American University, in Washington, D.C., studying American politics before interning in the Republican National Committee's New Media Division.
In her new role, Shaffer will serve as a liaison to the media, constituents and government.
