Coty Paige turned in a stellar performance for the Keuka College men's basketball team in its game against SUNYIT on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Weed Physical Arts Center.
The former Greece Arcadia standout poured in 29 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists, and yet, it wasn't enough as the Storm fell 66-63.
A three-point shot at the buzzer was missed as SUNYIT held on for the North Eastern Athletic Conference win.
The Storm led 28-18 after Paige made a layup with 6:50 to play in the opening half.
Paige was key for Keuka College in the first half as he scored 17 of his points in the first 20 minutes of action to help the Storm take a 40-35 lead into halftime.
The Wildcats responded in the second half, though, using a 9-0 run to go in front 54-48 with 10:50 remaining.
The Storm never got the lead back as it was swept in the season series by SUNYIT. The Wildcats won the first meeting by a 73-71 score.
Tyler Hixson pumped in a career-high 12 points for Keuka College while Conor Boyer, a former East Rochester standout, added seven points and eight rebounds. Former McQuaid player Jared Wagner scored nine points.
The Storm fell to 5-16 overall and to 5-9 in the NEAC.
Sejad Gromilic clicked for 25 points to pace the Wildcats, who improved to 5-17 overall and to 4-8 in the conference.
