Webster Thomas senior Will Bach scored the game-winning goal for the Titans, on a pass from junior Pat Schuber in the second half, to give Thomas a 2-1 victory over the Brighton Barons in the season opener for both teams on Thursday at Boulter Field.
The visiting Barons took a 1-0 lead 13 minutes into the game on a shot by junior Garrett Ruack that Thomas junior goalie Mike Konzel stopped, but could not control as the ball rolled over the goal line. Konzel finished with four saves in the match.
Titan senior midfielder Sam Guider tallied the equalizer about eight-and-a-half minutes later off a pass from Kevin Johnson.
Brighton senior netminder Nick Zarcone made a spectacular diving save on a shot by Schuber in the interum to keep the Barons in front.
Bach netted the winner with about 13 minutes left to play in the match.
