The National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 210, is conducting its annual Stamp Out Hunger campaign, where postal carriers pick up donations for area food banks and pantries on their mail routes, from June 4 to 9. The letter carrier food drive was kicked off with an event hosted at the Irondequoit Community Cupboard today, Thursday, May 31. Residents are asked to help by leaving nonperishable, non-breakable food items in a bag at their mailboxes and letter carriers will do the rest. Suggested items to donate include: Peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, crackers, cereal, juice boxes, pasta, canned fruit or vegetables, soups, and tuna fish.
