New York Giants' star Mark Herzlich will speak at the upcoming Camp Good Days event later this month.
Herzlich is a cancer survivor and will share his story with Camp Good Days and Special Times, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families who have been affected by cancer or life-threatening challenges.
Herzlich was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Ewing's sarcoma. He was told he might not ever walk again, but instead he beat the cancer and made his way back to the playing field in 2010. A year later, he was drafted by New York Giants Coach Tom Loughlin who took a chance on him in spite of his medical history, which was off-putting to the other teams in the NFL.
Shortly thereafter, Herzlich and his team celebrated their 2011 Super Bowl win.
